EYM Kids Ministry

Yesterday, my church youth group was approached to help out in the church’s ministry for the less fortunate children. A lot of the younger ones from EYM volunteered themselves to help out in either teaching and sharing the word of God or helping out in assisting the kids. Everyone had a blast during story-telling and the games. Even as i was holding my camera, i was laughing non-stop the whole time! Such joy only comes once in a while, and this was one of those moments where you will be reminded and appreciate the little things you have in life. Some of the youths went over to visit their homes at the construction site. To experience a little bit of their everyday life, humbled us a lot and makes us realize that we actually are very fortunate to have the things that we have now.

Brendon & Jessie | wedding

A week after shooting their pre-wedding, Brendon and Jessie got married in a very simple yet beautiful garden wedding on a beautiful Saturday morning. They were surrounded by families and friends from Malaysia and all the way from Australia. Djohan and I had a blast covering this wedding! The people were great, weather was clear with big blue sky all over, and of course the couple were just magnificent. The wedding was followed by tea ceremony and then the night reception, where Djohan was covering the photobooth. Check out his website for the coverage.

Djohan was covering the photobooth during the night. The photobooth was quite popular and people had a lot of fun getting their shots.
There was a point where the crowd was just too big, that everyone had to queue and get numbers! (kidding)

children have the best expressions

Recently I was requested by a family to shoot a kindergarden graduation/concert of a private school in Miri. This is the first time that I have an assignment where the subjects are kids, little children, and let me just say that shooting them is most definitely tougher than any weddings or other events I have shot! They can’t keep still and just could not stop running around making loud noises! (not that i’m complaining or anything..) And when they’re not running around, they’re either too shy when u point the camera at them or they’ll just cry.. T.T
But anyways.. Though they are such a handful to handle, little children are just too adorable too get you all hot aired. Whenever they get together with their friends, you’ll start seeing them just being themselves. They’ll laugh at every joke or funny things they do, play games that only they themselves could understand, and even just sit at one corner eagerly waiting to go home. No doubt I find this assignment tougher than any other, but you get this sense of joy when you see these kids just being kids. I can’t help myself but just smile the whole time.
